Welcome,
Summertime Announcements
It’s Summertime in Northshore!
I hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend and are gearing up for a fantastic summer.
I wanted to take the opportunity to express our sincere gratitude to Rick Cook for his service to Northshore on the board for over a decade, and most recently as our President. Rick’s thoughtful and kind approach is very much appreciated and serves as a model for how to bring a community together. It is with this same stewardship and service for the neighborhood that we will continue to make decisions and allocate our resources.
Most people I talk to consider their lake home a respite and sanctuary – a place to reconnect with nature, their families and with their neighbors – without the distractions of a busy world. They are interested in the basics, like having decent roads and a nice drive into their property. As such, the main topic at the annual meeting continued to be road maintenance and ensuring the easements are free of trees and trash (find under the Minutes section of the website).
Here are a few actions underway:
- We are working with our landscape / mowing contractor to clear the tree debris from the road easements and mow the grass along the roads throughout the neighborhood back to the Oaks. This should be completed by July 4th.
- We are contracting for the annual pothole and paving road maintenance to be completed this summer.
- We are planning a neighborhood clean-up – an “excuse to socialize” - event this Fall when the weather is cooler. Chip and Judy Wilkerson graciously offered to host in a few weeks; however, many kind neighbors have already taken it upon themselves to pick up trash, and the roadways look much better. We will regroup this Fall and will send more information later this summer.
- Finally, we want to thank our wonderful neighbors who tend the roads, street entrances and front gate as part of their ongoing service to the community – we appreciate all of you!
Looking ahead, if you are planning on spending the July 4th holiday at the lake, here are a few events to help you celebrate 250 years of American independence: - The fireworks show benefiting the South Franklin County VFD is being held at Mary King Park on Saturday, July 4th. Music broadcast on 97.7 FM starts at 9:00 p.m. and the fireworks begin around 9:40 p.m.
- The Northshore fireworks extravaganza, courtesy of some truly gifted neighborhood pyrotechnic wizards, will be held at a different location this year on Friday, July 3rd. The fireworks will be launched at dark from the Timber Creek Ranch, directly across the lake from the Oaks (“the barn”). It should be a great show from land or boat!
Thanks again to Rick, the Northshore POA Board, and all of our committee members for volunteering your time and talents in service to our community. Northshore truly is a special place, with so many caring individuals who do their part to make this a retreat we are all blessed to enjoy.
If you have any questions or need assistance with anything, don’t hesitate to reach out. Please be safe and have a wonderful summer!
2025 Annual Dues
We are wishing everyone a happy new year! Northshore is such a great community thanks to you, our members. All invoices for 2025 annual POA dues have been sent by email. If you have not received yours please send a message to Directors Email with your current email address, or you can also request an invoice by mail. We have received over 20 payments already with most members using our online payment function (simply click the online payment link on the invoice). If you prefer to pay by check to the NSPOA mailing address that is fine also. Thanks for your prompt payment. This helps us with our budget and planning process in the new year, and we will be sharing this with you at our annual meeting scheduled for April 12th. An agenda will be sent out in advance.

OPEN DISCUSSION
ADJOURNMENT
Solar Eclipse April 8, 2024
There should be some great viewing of the April 8th Total Solar Eclipse here at Lake Cypress Springs. The projected path (Mount Vernon) in our area begins about 12:20 pm and ends about 3:00 pm. Maximum magnitude is about 1:45 pm. There are plenty of web sites with information about how to safely watch the event, so check out info and be prepared!
There are other activities happening around Mount Vernon, for example LanternFest on Sunday, April 7th at 6:00 pm at the Franklin County Sports Complex sponsored by Mount Vernon Key Club. You can order your lantern kit on line (google LanternFest Mount Vernon, TX), and as the sun sets the lanterns will be illuminated and released...should be an awesome sight, and fun experience for all. There will be other events going on so go on line and check out Mount Vernon's Totally Eclipsed weekend!
2024 Annual Meeting
The Northshore Addition POA Annual Members' Meeting will be held on April 13th, at 2:00 pm at Kings Country Club House. This is just an advance notice so that you can mark your calendar. We'd encourage all members to join us so that we have input and representation throughout our community! An agenda will be forth-coming.
On-line Pay Has Launched!!
If you have not paid annual POA dues yet, please look for the most recent invoice which would have been received mid-February. We launched on-line payment this year which is a quick and simple way to pay dues by clicking on the invoice link. We've received positive feedback from those who have used this; you can continue to pay dues by check if you prefer to do so. If you have not seen an invoice please email your Directors.
There will be more discussion on our new website and on-line pay at our annual meeting to be held April 13 at 2:00 pm, Kings Country Clubhouse.
Trailer Storage
In our April annual meeting, our membership requested that we send a reminder that trailers are not allowed to be stored on Northshore properties. Currently there are several properties where trailers and/or boats are being stored. Please review the Northshore Covenants, Section 4.14 which states:
"No house trailer, mobile home, camper, or similar wheeled vehicle shall be stored or parked on any street or lot. No boat trailer or boat shall be stored or parked on any street or lot for more than 7 days in any 14-day period".
Notices have or will go out to request compliance in the event of any violation. Thank you and we appreciate your attention.
